The trek to East Col (6100m) and West Col (6143m) is perhaps the most difficult trek in Nepal. The trek requires mountaineering and climbing skills as well as roping skills as it involves glacial crossing and three difficult high passes which are all over 6000m above sea level. This trek is perfect for the more experienced trekkers looking for a challenge and beautiful icy alpine terrains.
This trek also includes the ascension of Mera peak, one of the highest trekking peaks in Nepal. This peak is located in the Khumbu region and has an elevation of 6,476m. The view from the summit of this peak is one of the finest in the Himalayas with five 8000m peaks visible: Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Cho Oyu, Makalu and Kanchenjunga along with other Himalayan peaks.
